Welcome to Clair de Lune.

This is a place to relax and rejuvenate. There is no TV, computer, or high-end gadgets here. Instead, there is a big lake, lots of books, and a comfortable couch. On a clear day, you can see the hills of India over the horizon. Clair de Lune means moonlight. If you are one of the lucky few to be here during a full moon, you can see the magnificent reflection of La Luna in the water. There’s a huge wall mural of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” by an international award-winning artist.

The big water body you see in front of you is called “Dharma Shagor”. Loosely translated, it means “Ocean of Faith”. However, the legend of the name is different. The king of Tripura, King Dharma Manikya commissioned this lake in 1714 and it took several years and hundreds of men to make this grand man-made lake. Legend has it that at the beginning there was no water in this lake. The men dug it deeper and wider but could not get a drop of water in it. Months and years passed and people were desperate for water. The noble king Dharma saw in his dream that if he goes into the middle and prays, there will be water. He obeyed the dream, went in the middle, and prayed. The water came gushing out and the curse was broken. But alas, the noble king Dharma could not make it to shore. Hence it is called Dharma’s ocean. Some have seen big aqua creatures in the middle of the night.  They usually come out in full moon. There is also a legend about secret stairs that connects it to the Rani’r kuthir (Queen’s villa) next to it. This place has legends and secret charms all over it. Let the adventure begin…

Welcome.
